Black Power, Resistance & Freedom Film Festival

Detroit Heals Detroit is hosting a week-long Black Power, Resistance & Freedom Film Festival in parks around Detroit. Many youth in the neighborhoods made valid points that they want to join the movement but they often don't have access to make it to the protests/events that mainly reside downtown so our solution is to bring the movement to them. We purchased an outside projector/screen and will watch the films (social-distance style), study previous movements, conduct dialogue around our demands and discuss the roles and strategies our young people will play to dismantle oppressive systems, affirm Black people and foster Freedom for The Future!

We want to thank all those who showed up to our Film Festival. We hope you left empowered, educated and with a little bit more fire to continue this fight for liberation and power for Black Lives.
